ROOMATES
Roomates, directed by Malu Pinho, is a comedic short film that playfully explores the chaos and charm of shared living. Through a witty narrator and a colorful ensemble of eccentric characters — the Germaphobe, the Nosy, the Busy-Body, and the Health-Freak — the film dives into the quirks, conflicts, and unexpected teamwork that come with life under one roof. With a visual style inspired by Wes Anderson’s symmetrical compositions and vibrant, detail-rich sets, the story balances humor, character-driven moments, and a sharp observational tone.
As Camera Operator, I collaborated closely with the Director of Photography and the director to achieve a stylized visual language that enhanced the film’s comedic tone and symmetrical framing. I operated the Sony FX6 and Sony FX3 cinema cameras, as well as the DJI Ronin Pro gimbal, ensuring precise framing, smooth camera movements, and visual continuity that matched the film’s whimsical aesthetic. My role was essential in bringing the director’s vision to life through dynamic, well-composed imagery.
